Bumblebees

In the Bumblebee room we have up to 14 children, aged approx 2 to 3 years. We have three members of staff based in the Bumblebee room. We also have a larger secure garden for the older children to use.

In this class, the children start their journey in preparation for the pre-school group. The children focus on self-help skills, such as dressing and undressing, brushing teeth and we support the children with successful potty training. The children start to recognise and understand rules for being together with each other, like taking turns and sharing. The children have many opportunities for group discussion where they share and talk about their feelings and events they have enjoyed.

We aim to stimulate learning and development in a fun and interesting environment for the children. Activities are planned to ensure the children recieve a variety of group and individual oportunities. Daily plans, based on current themes, cover all aspects of their developmental needs including display work, discussion and occasional visits out in the local area or from visitors such as the fire brigade and other professionals.
